Botanical Art Development

Creating botanical illustrations quickly is a necessary skill for professional illustrators and a great way for any nature enthusiast to observe and learn about plants. Students will learn techniques to complete illustrations in a variety of color media. Explore the gardens while taking reference photos and learn time-saving techniques from the instructor. Prior visual arts training is recommended.

Samantha Peters

Samantha Peters is a graphic designer for the Dallas Zoo. She has completed illustration internships at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. and at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX.

This class requires all participants to complete and sign a university Release and Indemnification Agreement before being considered enrolled in the class. Bring the completed form to the first class meeting and turn in to your instructor.
