Argentine Tango Dance

Tango is a highly improvisational dance that is built in layers. You will be guided in understanding the structure of tango from the start. In a relaxed atmosphere, you will be coached in the skills of leading and following, as well as the etiquette and culture of Argentine Tango. As you progress to the different levels, more complex figures and technique are taught with lots of personal attention and a great sense of humor! Enroll on your own or with a partner.

Gustavo Simplis

Gustavo found his passion for teaching tango in 2005, having danced for several years and learned from renowned masters in Argentina, including Daniel "El Flaco" Garcia, Juan Carlos Copes, and Lorena Ermocida. He has been involved with UT Informal Classes since 2015.

"Gustavo taught the class with gusto, making complex moves seem easy by breaking them down into simpler movements and by explaining them clearly. He is very good at teaching Argentine Tango." - spring 2017 student Anne Marie Jennings
