Adobe Photoshop

This introduction to Adobe Photoshop will cover everything you need to know to use the world's most powerful image editing program. You'll learn to resize, retouch and color correct digital images. You'll also learn about using layers to montage images, working with text, file formats, and productivity, as well as the new features in the latest version of Photoshop. Classroom exercises include creating a postcard, a product package design, and a web page mock-up.

Greg Hervey has been a freelance graphic designer and principal of Mercury Graphics for over 20 years.

Course Materials

This class is hosted on Canvas. Students will have access to instructional videos and projects which they can complete at their own pace. Class meetings via Zoom will give students the opportunity to participate in instructor's virtual office hours to ask questions and receive guidance. All students will receive video chat instructions prior to the first day of class.

Students must have their own Mac or PC laptop with a recent version of Adobe Photoshop installed (current pricing and the cancellation policy can be found at https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html).

Though you can use a trackpad, a mouse is strongly recommended!
